Some sites are surrounded by such sensational landscapes, that the main challenge becomes preserving the sightlines. Such was the case for this luxury seaside property in West Point Grey, Vancouver, where a design strategy of "less is more" was implemented.

The design proposed lower elements and planting for the front yard to avoid obstructing the stunning vistas of the Spanish Banks Beach. To add interest and a calming acoustic effect, a subtle stream was designed to flow from the front yard patio down a sloped meadow toward the entry path.

 

The backyard features an intimate patio to complement the elegant modern architecture.
