This project demonstrates how even a simple design can immensely upgrade any outdoor space. Most of the design intervention happened around the house, while the perimeter of the yard remained largely untouched. 

 

The backyard's layout was changed to create space for a small paved patio and some raised farming planters. Likewise, the existing deck was reimagined with a more functional layout, glass-covered pergola, comfortable dining, casual seating area, and a soothing hot tub. An enclosed private patio for the suite tenants or guests was designed underneath the deck.
